GIFs, emoji and reactions
Write messages with emoji and GIFs, react, reply, copy and unsend, and read the ticks on your messages.
Write a message
Type in Message and tap send. A message can be up to 1,000 characters. On a computer, Enter sends and Shift Enter starts a new line.
- Emoji: tap the emoji button. Search, pick a skin tone, or choose from Recent.
- GIFs: tap GIF, search or pick a mood like Thanks, Haha or Party, then send. Add a message with it if you like. GIFs come from GIPHY.
React and reply
Press and hold a message (on a computer, right-click it or use More):
- Tap one of the quick reactions, or More reactions for any emoji. You can leave one reaction per message. Tap yours again to remove it.
- Reply quotes the message above your answer. Tap a quote to jump to the original.
- Copy text copies the message.
- Unsend removes your message for both of you. They may already have read it.
- Report reports their message. See Block and report.
The ticks on your messages

| Not sent · Tap to retry | It didn't go. Tap to try again. |
In a message request, the other side doesn't see when you've read their messages.
Links
Before Morsel opens a link from a chat, it asks: Open this link? Links in chats can be scams. Morsel will never ask for your recovery phrase or private key. Links open in Morsel's browser. In message requests, links can't be opened at all.
