Create a wallet

Set up a new Morsel wallet in three short screens, choose your networks, then back up your Secret Recovery Phrase.

Creating a wallet takes about a minute. There is no email and no account: the wallet is made on your device and only you control it.

Welcome, password, networks, and you're in.

Before you start

  • Think of a strong password you won't forget. Morsel can't reset it. Your Secret Recovery Phrase can always restore the wallet, but the password can't be recovered.
  • Have a pen and paper ready for the backup right after.

Create your wallet

  1. Open Morsel. On the welcome screen, tap Create a new wallet.
  2. On Set a password, type a password in Password. It needs all five: 8+ characters, Uppercase, Lowercase, Number and Symbol. Each turns green when it's met.
  3. Type it again in Confirm password.
  4. On iPhone and Android, leave Unlock with Face ID (or Fingerprint) on if you want to unlock with your face or finger. It's on by default when your phone supports it.
  5. Tap Continue.
  6. On Choose your networks, keep both Cookie Chain and Solana ticked, or untick one you don't need. You can change this later.
  7. If both are ticked, pick where to start under Start on.
  8. Tap Create wallet. When the button says You're all set, your new wallet opens.

Your wallet is called Wallet #1. You can rename it any time. See Manage your wallets.

Back it up next

Morsel doesn't show your Secret Recovery Phrase during setup. Instead, a Back up your wallet chip appears under your balance on Home. Tap it and follow the steps. It takes about two minutes and it's the most important thing you'll do.

See Your Secret Recovery Phrase.

On the Chrome extension

Setup opens in a full browser tab so you have room to type. When you finish, Morsel opens the popup and closes the tab. If Chrome doesn't allow that, your wallet simply shows in the tab. Biometric unlock isn't available on the extension, so you'll unlock with your password.

If something goes wrong

  • Continue stays grey. One of the password rules is still grey, or the two passwords don't match (Passwords don't match).
  • Something went wrong. Please try again. Tap Continue again. If it keeps happening, restart Morsel.
