Notification settings
Turn on push notifications in the Morsel app, choose what you hear about, and give each kind of notification its own sound.
Morsel can tell you when money arrives, a swap completes, a message comes in, or something you started finishes, even while the app is closed. Push notifications are part of the iPhone and Android apps.
Turn on notifications
- Go to Settings → Preferences → Notifications.
- Turn on Push notifications.
- When your phone asks, tap Allow.
If you said no before, Morsel shows Permission required. Tap Open settings, allow notifications for Morsel, then come back.
Choose what you hear about
Once push is on, each kind has its own switch:
| Section | Switches |
|---|---|
| Activity | Tokens received, Tokens sent, Swap complete, NFT received, NFT sent |
| Recurring payments | Payments sent, Payment problems |
| Markets | Price updates: big COOK and SOL moves, plus your own price alerts. Price alerts lists the alerts you've set. |
| Chats | New messages, and Show message text |
| Updates | News and offers: new features and picks from the Cookie Chain ecosystem |
| Live trades | Show live trades on the lock screen |
Morsel also tells you when things you started finish: a bridge arrives, a private send is delivered or returned, a Cookie Chain limit order fills or expires.
A sound for each kind
Under Sound for each kind, every group has its own sound, so you can tell a payment from a message without looking. Tap play to hear it, or switch a group's sound off.
The groups are Chats, Money received, Money sent, Swaps and orders, NFTs, Staking and rewards, Recurring payments, Launches and live trades, Price alerts, Security, Failed transactions and News and offers.
Under Sounds and vibration:
- Sounds turns all notification sounds on or off.
- Vibration applies while the app is open. On the lock screen, your phone's settings decide.
- In-app sounds plays chat sounds and other sounds while you use Morsel.
- Phone notification settings, on Android, opens your phone's own settings for each kind.
Which wallet
Your phone shows notifications for every wallet that registered on it. Inside Morsel, banners and unread counts follow the wallet you're using. Tapping a notification for another wallet switches to it first.
While Morsel is open
Notifications slide in as a banner at the top. Tap to open, swipe it away, or press and hold for a preview. Chat banners have Reply and Open.
If notifications don't arrive
- Check Push notifications and the switch for that kind.
- Check that Morsel is allowed to notify you in your phone's settings, and that Focus or Do Not Disturb isn't hiding it.
- Check you're looking at the right wallet.
- Turn Push notifications off and on again.
To register for notifications, your phone sends Morsel's server your wallet's public address and a device token, signed to prove you own the address. Your keys never leave your phone. The Chrome extension doesn't send push notifications.
