Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the questions people ask most about Morsel, from accounts and fees to networks, privacy and staking.

The basics

Do I need an account? No. There's no email, no sign-up and no Morsel account. Your wallet is created on your device.

Can Morsel recover my wallet? No. Only your recovery phrase can. Morsel never has it. See Your Secret Recovery Phrase.

Does Morsel hold my funds? No. Your funds are on Cookie Chain and Solana, controlled by your keys. Morsel can't move, freeze or see your keys.

Is Morsel free? The app is free. Sending and receiving have no Morsel fee. Swaps, bridges and private sends carry a small Morsel fee, always shown before you confirm. See Fees.

Can I use the same wallet on my phone and computer? Yes. Import it on each device with your recovery phrase. Each device keeps its own encrypted copy and its own password.

Networks

Why do I only see one network? Morsel shows one network at a time so you always know where a token lives. Switch with the network button at the top right. See Switch networks.

Why is my address the same on Cookie Chain and Solana? Both are SVM networks with the same kind of address. One key controls your wallet on both. See Your address on each network.

How do I get COOK? Receive it from someone, swap for it on Cookie Chain, or bridge COOK or SOL from Solana. See Bridge COOK and SOL.

Why do I need COOK or SOL? Every transaction pays a small network fee in the network's coin: COOK on Cookie Chain, SOL on Solana.

Sending and receiving

What's a .cook name? A readable name for a Cookie Chain address, like alice.cook. Type it in Send to instead of the address.

What's the difference between a message and a note? A message is private and only the recipient can read it. A note is public, on-chain, for exchanges that ask for a memo. See Messages and notes.

Can I cancel a payment? No. Once it's sent, it's final. That's why Morsel checks the recipient and asks you to hold to send.

Swaps and staking

Where does Morsel get swap prices? On Cookie Chain, from the CookieBox and CookieScan aggregators, whichever pays more. On Solana, from Jupiter. See Swap tokens.

Why does COOK staking show 0%? Cookie Chain doesn't issue new COOK right now, so there are no staking rewards. Morsel shows the real number. See Stake COOK.

How long does unstaking take? Until the end of the current epoch: up to about 54 hours on Cookie Chain, about two days on Solana. See Unstake and withdraw.

Privacy

What does Private mode do? It gives sites a separate private wallet, so they never see your real one. See Private mode.

What does a private send hide? Your address, from the person you pay. Amounts and times stay public. See Private sends.

Why did my balance show again after I hid it? Hidden Balances resets each time you open Morsel. Tap your balance to hide it again. See Hidden Balances.

Can Morsel read my chats? No. Chats are end-to-end encrypted. Morsel's servers can see which wallets talk and when, not what they say. See Chat privacy and encryption.

Safety

Someone from Morsel support messaged me. It's a scam. Morsel never messages first and never asks for your recovery phrase. See What Morsel will never ask.

I got a token or NFT I didn't buy. Don't touch it, and don't visit any link it shows. Hide it. See Scam tokens and NFTs.

I think someone has my recovery phrase. Move your funds to a new wallet now. See If your wallet is compromised.
