When a swap fails

What each swap error means and how to fix it, from fees and slippage to missing routes and busy networks.

A failed swap doesn't take your tokens. If the transaction reached the network, only the network fee was spent. Here's what each message means.

Before you swap

The Swap button tells you what's missing.

Price moved too much. Try increasing slippage to [x]% or higher. The price moved more than your slippage allowed, so the swap stopped to protect you.Raise slippage a little. See Slippage and price impact.
You don't have enough COOK for network fees + account rent.Swapping into a token you've never held opens an account for it, which needs a small deposit.Add a little COOK (or SOL on Solana) and try again.
Network was busy, please try again. The swap took too long to land and expired.Try again. On Solana, choose a higher Priority Fee.
Swap service is temporarily unavailable. The exchange service didn't answer.Wait a few seconds and try again.
