Stake SOL
Stake SOL with a Solana validator from inside Morsel, see the estimated APY, and learn how Morsel picks a validator for you.
Staking SOL delegates it to a Solana validator and earns rewards every epoch. Your SOL stays in a stake account that only your wallet controls.
Stake
- Switch to Solana. See Switch networks.
- Tap Stake on Home, or go to Stash and tap SOL staked.
- On the staking page, tap Stake SOL.
- Enter an amount, or tap 25%, 50% or Max. The minimum is 1 SOL.
- Check the suggested validator and Why this validator, or tap Change to choose another.
- Tap Review, check the details, then press and hold Hold to stake.
Rewards
The staking page shows About [x]% APY, worked out live from Solana's current inflation and supply. The validator's commission comes out of that, and it doesn't include MEV rewards some validators share. Rewards are added to your stake each epoch, so your stake grows on its own.
Rewards earned shows what your stakes have earned over the last few epochs.
How Morsel picks a validator
Morsel only suggests validators that:
- voted at least 90% of the time;
- charge at most 10% commission;
- skip at most 10% of their blocks;
- have a public name and at least 10,000 SOL staked;
- aren't among the largest validators that together control a third of all stake, to keep Solana decentralized.
You can search and pick any validator in Choose a validator.
When it starts
A new stake shows Activating until the next epoch, then Active. Solana epochs last about two days. The staking page shows the current Epoch and when the next one starts.
Costs
- Account deposit: about 0.0017 SOL to open the stake account. Returned when you withdraw.
- Network fee: a tiny amount of SOL, including a small priority fee.
- Morsel charges nothing for staking.
Liquid staking tokens
The staking page lists liquid staking tokens such as JitoSOL, jupSOL, mSOL, INF and bSOL. These give you a token that earns staking rewards while staying tradable. Tapping one opens Swap with SOL to that token. They're issued by third parties, each with its own risks.
