Private sends
Pay someone in COOK without them seeing your wallet, using Morsel's Private Route on Cookie Chain. What it hides, what it costs and how long it takes.
A normal payment shows the recipient exactly which wallet paid them, and from there everything else that wallet holds. A private send pays them from a Morsel wallet that isn't yours, so they don't see your address.
It runs on the Private Route on Cookie Chain. There's no pool to deposit into and nothing to manage: you turn it on for one payment.
Send privately
- Send COOK as usual and go to Review. See Send tokens.
- Turn on Private send. It explains: Sent from a Morsel wallet that isn’t yours, so they don’t see your address. It leaves with the next private batch, in a few minutes. Amounts and times stay public.
- Check the Private Route fee and the Total, at most.
- Press and hold Hold to send.
Private send is off for every new payment. It switches back off if you change the token or the network, so turn it on each time.
What happens next
The result sheet follows your payment:
- Sent to the Private Route: your COOK has left your wallet. You'll see Payment scheduled.
- Leaves with the next private batch. Batches leave every 15 minutes or so, and payouts are spread out a little after that, so most payments arrive within half an hour.
- Delivered to [recipient]: paid by a Morsel payout wallet, not by yours.
You can close the sheet. The payment keeps going. In the iPhone and Android apps you get a notification when it's delivered. Larger payments may arrive in two or three parts.
If the payment can't be delivered, it comes back to your own wallet and the sheet shows Sent back to your wallet.
What it costs
- Private Route fee: a percentage of the amount, plus the network cost. It's 2% right now, and Review always shows the exact amount before you send. The recipient gets exactly the amount you entered. The fee is paid by you, on top.
- Morsel checks the fee before you sign and refuses a payment that charges more than the published rate.
What it hides, and what it doesn't
| Hidden | Still public |
|---|---|
| Your wallet address, from the recipient | The amount, and when it was paid |
| The direct on-chain link from your wallet to theirs | That your wallet paid the Private Route |
Morsel's own service sees both ends of the payment in order to deliver it. Private sends make your payments much harder to link. They don't make you anonymous.
What you can send privately
- COOK on Cookie Chain. Other tokens show Private send is not available for this token yet.
- Paying a private address. If the recipient gave you an
msv1:address, or published one, Morsel sends to a one-time address of theirs. That hides them as the receiver, but they can still see it came from you. This works on both networks. - On Solana, without a private address, you'll see Private send works on Cookie Chain, or with a recipient who has published a private address.
Notes, messages and Repeat aren't available on private sends.
If it's unavailable
- Private send is temporarily unavailable. The route is paused. Try again later, or send normally.
- Private sends can be up to [amount] COOK right now. Send a smaller amount, or wait. The limit is currently 500,000 COOK per send.
- Very small amounts are rejected. Send at least 0.01 COOK.
