Recurring sends
Pay the same amount of COOK every day, week or month on Cookie Chain, and pause, resume or stop it whenever you like.
A recurring send pays the same amount of COOK to the same wallet on a schedule, like a standing order. It runs on Cookie Chain, through an on-chain program. Only your key can stop it or take the money back.
How it works
When you start one, Morsel moves the total for every payment into a vault that belongs to you. The program pays each payment out on time. Stop it any time and everything not yet paid comes straight back to your wallet.
Morsel pays the network fee for each scheduled payment. You only pay the fee to start it, and a small refundable deposit.
Start a recurring send
- Send COOK as usual. See Send tokens.
- On Review, turn on Repeat. It says Sends once until you do.
- Under How often, choose Daily, Weekly or Monthly (every 30 days).
- Under Ends, choose After a number of payments (4, 12, 26 or 52) or By a date (1 month, 3 months, 6 months or 1 year).
- Check the summary, for example 5 COOK every week, 12 payments, starts now, and the costs:
- Held for payments: every payment, moved now into a vault only your key can empty;
- Refundable deposit: returned when it ends;
- Network fee: once, to start it;
- Leaves your wallet now: the total.
- Press and hold Hold to start.
You'll see Recurring payment started. The first payment goes out within a few minutes.
Limits
- COOK only, on Cookie Chain, to an ordinary wallet.
- Each payment must be at least 0.001 COOK.
- At least 2 payments, and up to 366.
- Repeat can't be combined with a private send, a message or a note.
Pause, resume or stop
Go to Settings → Wallets → Recurring payments, or tap See all on the Scheduled card in Activity.
- Tap the payment.
- Choose Pause or Resume, or press and hold Hold to stop and get [amount] COOK back.
Stopping refunds every payment not yet made, plus the deposit, to your wallet.
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Active | Running on schedule. |
| Paused | You paused it. Nothing is paid until you resume. |
| Out of funds | The vault can't cover the next payment. |
| Behind | Too many payments were missed, so the network holds it until you pause and resume it. Resuming restarts it from now. |
| Finished | Every payment was made. |
| Cancelled | You stopped it. |
Notifications
In the iPhone and Android apps, Settings → Preferences → Notifications → Recurring payments has two switches: Payments sent and Payment problems. For daily payments, Morsel only tells you when they start and finish.
If it won't start
- There isn’t enough COOK to hold every payment, the deposit and the fee. Choose fewer payments or a smaller amount.
- Recurring payments aren’t available on Cookie Chain right now. Send once instead, or try again later.
- A watched wallet can't start one. Switch to a wallet you can sign with.
