Glossary

Plain-language definitions of the words you'll meet in Morsel and in crypto, from SVM and COOK to slippage, epochs and chain proof.

Address. Where people send you tokens: a long string of letters and numbers. In Morsel it's the same on Cookie Chain and Solana. Safe to share.

Aggregator. A service that checks many exchanges and finds the best price for a swap. Morsel uses CookieBox and CookieScan on Cookie Chain, and Jupiter on Solana.

Airdrop. Tokens or NFTs sent to many wallets at once. Some are genuine; unexpected ones are often scams.

Baked Bazaar. The NFT marketplace on Cookie Chain.

Bridge. A way to move tokens between networks. Morsel bridges COOK and SOL between Solana and Cookie Chain using Hyperlane.

Chain proof. Morsel's check of which network a transaction was really built for, before you sign it. It shows as [network] confirmed.

Collectible. Morsel's word for an NFT.

Contract address, or mint address. The unique address of a token or NFT. Two tokens can share a name; only this address tells them apart.

COOK. The native token of Cookie Chain. It pays every network fee there.

.cook name. A readable name for a Cookie Chain address, like alice.cook.

Cookie Chain. An SVM network built for fast, low-cost trading and apps, and one of the two networks Morsel supports.

dApp. A decentralized app: a website or app that works with your wallet, like an exchange or a marketplace.

Dust. A tiny amount of a token sent to your wallet, often by scammers trying to get their address into your history.

Epoch. A period of time on a network after which staking changes take effect. About 54 hours on Cookie Chain, about two days on Solana.

Explorer. A website that shows everything on a blockchain, like CookieScan or Solscan.

Hyperlane. The interchain protocol Morsel's bridge uses to carry COOK and SOL between networks.

Limit order. An order to trade only when the price reaches a level you set.

Liquid staking. Staking through a token, like JitoSOL, that represents your stake and can be traded.

Network fee. The small fee every transaction pays to the network, in COOK or SOL. It doesn't go to Morsel.

NFT. A non-fungible token: a unique token, often art, a membership or a ticket.

Price impact. How much your own trade moves the price.

Private key. The secret that controls one address. Like the recovery phrase, never share it.

Private Route. Morsel's service for private sends on Cookie Chain, which pays the recipient from a wallet that isn't yours.

Recovery phrase, or Secret Recovery Phrase. Twelve or 24 words that restore your wallet on any device. Whoever has it has your funds.

Rent, or account setup. A small one-time deposit the network needs to keep an account, such as a token account, open.

Self-custody. You hold your own keys, so only you can move your funds, and nobody can recover them for you.

Signing. Approving a transaction or message with your key. Morsel shows you what you're signing first.

Simulation. A dry run of a transaction on the network, without sending it, to show what would change.

Slippage. The most you'll accept a price moving against you between the quote and the trade.

SOL. The native token of Solana. It pays every network fee there.

Solana. The original SVM network, with the widest range of tokens and apps.

Stake account. The account that holds your staked COOK or SOL. Only your wallet controls it.

Staking. Delegating COOK or SOL to a validator to help run the network, and earn rewards where the network pays them.

SVM. The Solana Virtual Machine, the engine that runs programs on Solana and on networks built like it, such as Cookie Chain. Morsel is a multi-SVM wallet.

Token account. A small account that holds one kind of token for a wallet. Payments should go to the wallet, not to its token account.

Transaction. An action recorded on the blockchain, like a payment or a swap.

Validator. A computer that runs a network and processes transactions. You stake with validators.

Verified. A token or collection Morsel has checked. Unverified doesn't mean scam, but check carefully.

Wallet Standard. The common way Solana-style dApps find and talk to wallets. Morsel supports it.

Watched wallet. A wallet you follow read-only, without being able to spend from it.
